Hey BETA testers! I am just having a small update, mainly just re-designing the pause menu and starting work on the first objective. The update is coming as a new years gift, here is the actual changelog for this version:

[UPDATE 1/1/11]
Fixed 'Madness' easter egg
New layout of Pause Menu
Started work on the Medals section of the menu
Started work on the first objective
Made fire less power intensive

Hey guys, things are running a bit slow for Helycopta 2, why? well I am making some changes between this and number 1 and these changes are better for the game but incorportate major changes in the design and coding of the game itself.

The game has only the tutorial level complete and part of the first level, I am now mainly just bug fixing, I still need BETA testers to help! I am actually posting this with the modification of a major glitch in the game that caused the heli to get stuck... unfortuanetly fixing this major glitch has caused many more glitches to arise... oh well!

Some features that aren't mentioned in the 'Whats New' post I made earlier is that the game now has saving for what levels the player has completed, so soon you can come back and play any level!

There are a lot of things happening on the first level and already, having only done 1/3 of the first level, are causing the game to run really slowly, I am actually away from my main computer and I am working on my little 10" netbook, the downside of this is that the netbook only has Intel atom 1.6gHz and 1GB of ram and a really bad onboard graphics chip, I have to run this game at lowest graphics, and I can still only achieve about 20/30 FPS, but! I noticed Helycopta 1 was really graphic intense on older computers, so I have added some options to lower flash quality (like LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) and also added the ability to disable the 'scrolling' backgrounds and the dynamic smoke.

Just a final thing, if someone would like to be programmed into my game, or want something funny to randomly place in my game PM me suggestions and I'll see what I can do!

Who wants to participate in the Helycopta 2 BETA Test? Well I have 30 slots for BETA testers!

How? PM me asking to be a BETA tester, if you become a beta tester you will need to report errors to me, I will update the game at least every week, but I may even update daily, depending on how busy I am, I dont want you sending BETA reports saying stuff like "the helicopter moves funny" or "The colors look wrong" becuase I am looking for serious testers to give me good usable feedback. If you do get selected I will send you a link to the BETA and on the first screen will be a link to see all changes, reported errors and so on.

Hey guys! Helycopta 2 is in development, and already features many requested features, here are just a few of the new features

Sounds have been added
10 new levels
levels are larger and contain more obstacles
Smaller resolution for screens with less size
Higher screen width to height ratio, 16:9
Better engine, less glitchy
Helicopter is now in more parts for better recognition
added damage system to remove exploding, helicopter slowly looses damage until dead
added better scoring and a scoreboard
added more medals
added checkpoints for if you die
new design of most things

At the moment not even the first level is done, but I have implemented a lot! So far saving, loading and the new damage system are working, the new engine is still fairly glitchy, I'm mainly having problems trying to get the helycopta to not explode when hitting walls, but instead bounce off.

I promised new stuff and here it is! A game that I made for my Computers class at school! I decided to port it to newgrounds and now features medals! Thats not all! I am asking for great game ideas! so if anyone has any simply PM me the idea and I'll see what I can do!
